David Mackay
Leadership Coach and Mentor
David has worked in Financial Services for 35 years and for two banks HSBC and Santander. He held a range of senior positions with HSBC and joined Abbey National in 2007 where he was part of the leadership team that created the challenger bank Santander by bringing together Abbey National, Bradford & Bingley and Alliance & Leicester. David ran the North Division of Santander (broadly Manchester up the way and Northern Ireland!) for 9 years during this period.
David graduated in Business studies from Napier University in 1980 and qualified as a Chartered Banker shortly afterwards. He is a fellow and council member of the Chartered Banker Institute and a member of the Advisory Board for Glasgow Caledonian School for business and society. David is a business mentor for Scottish Gymnastics and ‘grandfathers’ a mentoring scheme for the Chartered Institute.
David is married with 3 grown up children 3 grandsons and a new granddaughter. He is a keen road cyclist, golfer and is keen to become a coastal rower!
